I'll start out by telling you some fakes are really good and hard to spot but there are a few tricks that can help you smell out a Photoshop job. Here we go...
Yea so these are my horrible quick arrows. If my husband is reading this he is thinking, "you know there is a way better and easier way to do that." He would never say that though. I do the hair in the family and he is the graphic master.
So the top and bottom arrows are to show you the easiest tell to see. If you notice her outside tendrils of her hair are still her natural color. I can tell you that even if these pieces were somehow missed when applying the lavender color it would not have also been missed in the prelightening stage. It can be hard in Photoshop to catch all those little hairs like that and they tend to be missed
The middle arrow is to show you if you look pretty close that it almost looks brushed on. Well because it probably was or selected with some PS tool. In other words it is too perfect. Also although the scalp does get stained if you apply it there, not like this.
Bottom line is, if it looks too perfect it probably is. Too perfect = faked many times.
Remember this picture and how beautiful the color is?
Oh did you want it in purple and blue? Phew this took me hours to take the color out and then recolor it in these chosen colors. Ok, it took me 5 minutes in PS to change it. If I was doing this for more than an example (don't look Ryan!) I would have gone and made sure all the other color around it weren't changed. You know, so she didn't have a green arm. I did this to show how sadly easy a photo can be manipulated. These two photos shows the perimeter glow I talk about further down.
I just love P!nk and her ability to change up her hair color. Ok, once again I quickly Photoshopped it to give her a few pink highlights. Another 5 minute hack job but I think you get the point. In real life getting bright streaks like this and having it not bleed into the rest of that blonde after you wash it the first time is extremely hard and almost inevitable
The tell on this image is the glow around the head. Many times in Photoshop you select a certain area to change the something in it. If you look at the right side of her head by the mirror you can really see it. The bottom has the pink glow as well.
Also the hair accessory has a pink tinge to it as well which it did not in the original picture.
Next up is the makeup part of this Photoshop series. Nope, you don't have the worst skin in the world up close, you just might not be editing the heck out of your images!
That's all for today folks! Feel free to send me images by email or post on my facebook if you have any questions about the validity of it. If I can't figure it out I know my trusty graphic designer extraordinaire husband can. I hope you enjoyed this! I now have to go see what the 2 year old littles are destroying as that is a supernatural sort of silence. Have a great evening!
what's this for?
I find so many things I love out on The Internet and I want a place to share it. Trends, tips, and hopefully some fun stuff too!
