for the last minute'ers like me!
I managed to work my Square market place where I can now offer electronic gift certificates!
For those people who would love to be able to treat themselves but always put themselves at the bottom. For the moms who never get away for some me time. For the men who need a haircut, not just a quick barber buzz. I could come up with endless scenarios!
Here is how it works. Click on this link... Square Market. This should lead you to my online store. You can purchase by the item if you know what you'd like to gift or even just an amount. You will receive an email with the receipt and this is what the person will use to show as their gift certificate. I also get notified of it as well so don't be concerned you will get lost in the system. You might have used Square with me or other businesses as it is very popular and becoming even more so!
If you missed the link above or lose this post you can always google Square Market and then do a search for my name.
Please be gentle as there is no picture up yet when you search, some things are even too convoluted for this nerd to figure out.
Christmas is super super close and even Amazon could miss the date! This is super easy, a great gift and then you or the giftee can always book their appt here through my scheduling tool or by calling, emailing me or Facebooking! See all links above for contact info!
If I don't see some of you before the holidays, have a very happy and safe one!
P.S. Thank you to my best friend who is a nagging pusher to have me get this done. You're Welcome Bean!
I am going to unleash the beast for you today and do the embarrassing unthinkable. Yep, I am going to show you a picture with my eyebrows completely overgrown! I wax my lip as well but hey I do have some pride! Why would I put myself through this degradation? I feel it is important for people to see the real benefits of having your eyebrows shaped, no matter what method you use. I prefer waxing but to be honest have never had threading or sugaring done.
Here we go...you tell me if you can see the difference. Side note...When I do my eye makeup I tame them a little with some eyebrow gel and sometimes fill them in a bit too.
Don't you feel like Dr Wexler is watching you with this picture, I know it's sort of creepy huh?
The great thing about waxing is there are many different shapes and styles for all different peoples tastes. I prefer mine pretty natural and have never been very partial to the very very thin brow and right now a little fuller is the trend.
Here is a funny and informative video by a makeup artist by the name of Wayne Goss that you must watch. Careful though and make sure you have some time because if you are anything like me, once you start watching his videos you will keep watching more and more. He's pretty funny and a great artist.
The shape of the eyebrows is a trend and so therefore for me to say one way is wrong or right would be an unwise decision because it could change next week.
I wax because I can do it myself and I like the effect but the other procedures that are available are waxing, threading, sugaring and I am sure ones I have not seen before. If you know of any please comment here and I would love to research them. No matter what method you decide on research the location and their sanitary practices. I have heard of some places that use the same wax pot for all different location. Sooooo someone might have had their butt waxed with the same wax being put on your face.
I have in the past done facial waxing but after my move to the new salon I decided to refer them to the ladies in the main salon. They make it a nice relaxing experience, well as much as it can be. With them it feels like a service not just having hair ripped off your face and they also offer facials and other spa services. Funny story...before I started working there I snuck in undercover and had mine done because I like to know something is good before I preach about it and I was pretty impressed.
If you would like to make an appointment with one of the girls at the shop give them a call at Willow Salon and Spa at (253) 759-2000 and please tell them I sent you.
Thanks for stopping by!
So time to get honest here. It is my job when I go to work to have great hair and great makeup. Would you want to come in and have someone make you look beautiful who looks like they just rolled out of bed? Me either!
Now thankfully I do not go to work everyday because I don't think I could be fully made up everyday. Some days are filled with 2 year old boys being taken to play groups, Costco, unclean hair in ponytails and yelling "get that out of your mouth" and "Don't hit your brother"! But because I also run into people who are clients once again I don't want to look complete sweat pants mama, which is what I look like at home!
I have found though a way to try and make a happy medium. I am deeming it them the 2 minute mommy makeover, the 5 minute mommy makeover and the time intensive 10 minute whooping it up mommy makeover.
Here is the before and after pictures of the 2 minute and the products I used. I will be trying to make a YouTube tutorial too so you can see me in my crazy rushing ritual!
From right to left is what I carry in my bag, now I have more than you might feel you need but because of my oily eyelids I have to have primer and I carry the concealer because sometimes I have glad freezer bags under my eyes, full of coffee grounds I swear!
1. Sample size Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. I received this in a palette from UD I think but have it in full size as well. Now when you see the price do not stop breathing! It is worth every single dollar you pay, and really it's only 20 bucks. It's a pretty big industry staple among many make up artists and keeps your eye makeup where it belongs, not on your knees.
2. Blush brush..obviously. This originally came from a Bare Escentuals kit I think it is this Flawless Face brush but I like it as a blush brush. Also good for blending out an eyeshadow that might have been put on too haphazardly.
3. Mary Kay concealer in shade Beige 1. I like this one because it is liquid but I don't feel like it accentuates the lines around my eyes. Hey! I've earned those as I'm sure if you have them so have you.
4. Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara. I usually have to wear waterproof which this is not but it doesn't irritate my eyes like other non waterproof do.
5. Be a Bombshell eyeliner pen...it's got a big tip that comes to a fine point. This was in a ipsy bag as well and it will be a repurchase because it is a must have for me!
6. Moxie lipgloss by Bare Escentuals Another ipsy score!
7. Mary Kay highlighter powder, comes with a light blush and highlighter in one. I use this as a blush and an eyeshadow. Great double duty!
Just a shot of my makeup bag next to something to help you see the size ratio. I could actually fit double what I showed in this post though
So that's it I think! Please feel free to email me, comment here, Facebook or Twitter me with any questions or comments. There are cute little buttons at the top of the page here to access those. I welcome suggestions on what you'd like to see too!
Thank you for taking your time to read my blog I really appreciate all my readers.
Now go enjoy the day, Little man sure is!
what's this for?
