for the last minute'ers like me!
I managed to work my Square market place where I can now offer electronic gift certificates!
For those people who would love to be able to treat themselves but always put themselves at the bottom. For the moms who never get away for some me time. For the men who need a haircut, not just a quick barber buzz. I could come up with endless scenarios!
Here is how it works. Click on this link... Square Market. This should lead you to my online store. You can purchase by the item if you know what you'd like to gift or even just an amount. You will receive an email with the receipt and this is what the person will use to show as their gift certificate. I also get notified of it as well so don't be concerned you will get lost in the system. You might have used Square with me or other businesses as it is very popular and becoming even more so!
If you missed the link above or lose this post you can always google Square Market and then do a search for my name.
Please be gentle as there is no picture up yet when you search, some things are even too convoluted for this nerd to figure out.
Christmas is super super close and even Amazon could miss the date! This is super easy, a great gift and then you or the giftee can always book their appt here through my scheduling tool or by calling, emailing me or Facebooking! See all links above for contact info!
If I don't see some of you before the holidays, have a very happy and safe one!
P.S. Thank you to my best friend who is a nagging pusher to have me get this done. You're Welcome Bean!
Yep...I decided to grow my bangs out. It is a horrible experience that I might shed a few tears during the process.
I've had bangs for a few years now and because I am tired of the upkeep and as my hair gets longer I feel like my super short bangs were just to contrasting to the length.
Why didn't someone tell me before I have such a huge forehead!!! I feel like all my friends and husband have done me a disservice in the past. In fairness to them though I asked a coworker yesterday about it and she said it was actually cute and she is not a sugar coater. That doesn't mean I didn't keep glimpsing my hair in the mirror at work and each time going...oooooh gawd look at that 5 head!
In the future I will post more helpful tips on how to grow them out gracefully but today I am just here to gripe and let you all know this is a painful process and if you are in it too....I am there with you and for you sister or mister!
Bring on the patience, the warehouse sized can of hair spray, bobby pins and a box of tissues to sop up the tears of frustration.
Let us go the journey friends but know you are not alone!
Anyone else wake up to thunder at 6am this morning? Yea, I was sure we were being bombed, there was a massive earthquake or my neighbor was bringing in his trash cans. Or all of the above.
It got me to thinking about how it is that time of year where it's a good time to change up your hair color. The summer sun can drain all your hair color out, lighten that foil you got and the lighter color can wash you out.
Now I am not saying dye your hair black but some nice warm coppery lowlights or caramel multidimensional balayage can really brighten the start of those fall blues.
Start following me on Pinterest for some ideas if this is all confusing, I can tend to be that way! Pick up a new umbrella if you want to keep that drizzle away from your perfectly flattened 'do and make some soup! Happy beginning of fall everyone!
I hear this confession at least 2 times a day, sometimes more. I have heard of many stylists berating their clients for cutting on their own hair and I just don't understand why.
Let me be frank here, if you cut your bangs and you mess them up I don't really care. It's your hair and you wear it everyday. I can promise you though that I will always do my best to even them out, texture the ends if they came out too blunt or tell you sorry there is nothing we can do for them right now but grow.
You do not have to feel responsible to me, I will never scold you. I am a licensed hair stylist who when unable to get a bang trim have done a DIY myself. People say yes but you know what you are doing. I do! But that doesn't mean it is not hard doing it backwards. I have also cut them a bit shorter than I was intending, I just call it vintage, retro, or pinup.
Here is the best part though, when you feel that bang trimming itch, put the scissors down and hit my online booking system (click the "Schedule Now" button above or below this post). Bang trims are complementary for my clients in between cuts. Or don't and I will fix ya up during your next appt.
No judging, no hassles, come in and see me!
*The image below does not belong to me, I borrowed it from the internet.
"Should I wash my hair before I come in for my hair color?"
"I haven't washed my hair in 3 days will the color still work?"
"I have a ton of hair product in my hair is that going to affect anything?"
I am frequently asked these questions and the answer to all is...it's fine! Washed, not washed, gobbed full of product, that color or lightener is going to cut right though it all.
The only time you should really worry about it is if you will be having a high lift color or even more important an entire on scalp lightening service using bleach. When you shampoo your hair you probably make sure you scrub that scalp really well and this is where the problem lies. When you stimulate the scalp you are getting the blood flowing and opening the pores which could be an ouchie when the lightener hits that skin. If you have ever had a color service you know you get a tingly sensation when the color is processing sometimes, if you scrub the scalp it could cause that tingle to be a burn!
Bottom line is, when you come see me for a color service don't stress about dirty hair, or too clean of hair or that you needed to use the entire can of hairspray today, What matters is that you come in, have some coffee and lets make you feel nice and spiffed up!
Hope this tip helps and if you need some in person tips you can schedule an appointment with me by clicking "Schedule Now" at the top of the page.
what's this for?
I find so many things I love out on The Internet and I want a place to share it. Trends, tips, and hopefully some fun stuff too!
